Phobez Apollo how are you today? Tell us a bit about your music style…
Hey I’m doing great. My music style is simply pop. I see my genre of pop as dance, edm, hip-hop, and a hint of R&B.
Who are your top musical inspirations?
My top musical inspirations are drawn from the world’s most ground-breaking artists. Beyonce has played a huge role in my artistry. I think she is larger than life. I also draw musical inspiration from Lady GaGa and Kanye West; they are so innovative.
What big things do you have planned this year?
Next month my first EP will be released. I am so excited for the world to hear my music and I will be doing a series of shows this summer.
You’re also really into art & fashion, tell us how you tie it into your music work?
I think art, music, and fashion are the three artistic expressions that describe me as an artist. I consider myself to be a performance artist, therefore I make an effort to express my art through every outlet possible.
Do you work on your own in the studio, or do you have a team?
I write all of my music, but I do have an amazing team of producers and engineers that help create my music.
What has been the biggest challenge with managing the ‘finance’ side of the work you do?
There’s so much that goes into the Phobez Apollo brand. I think the most difficult aspect fininacially for me is between putting shows together and creating new outfits.
At this point in your career, what is the main advice you would want from an accountant?
I would love to know how to plan budgets effectively. Somehow I always seem to be going over budget.
What does freedom mean to you?
Freedom is the emotional, mental, and physical experience of liberty.
What is the biggest change you would like make in the next 5 years?
