So now let’s talk about low cost tax preparation software for professionals, there are five top tax preparation software packages on the market that most tax preparers will use on their own: Karma Credit Tax, TurboTax, TaxACT, H&R Block and eSmart Tax. It is a shame to compare these options with the cheapest ones. Each one has different editions with different characteristics. As a result, it is necessary to compare competitive versions between suppliers, not just prices.

5 Low cost tax preparation software for professionals:

1. Karma Credit Tax

Credit Karma Tax is a relatively new service offered by Credit Karma and has certainly made a great impact. Their tax filing service is simple and I think I can sum it up in two simple returns. When you file as someone with only a W-2, or if you are self-employed and require Schedule C and itemized deductions, Credit Karma Tax has you covered. Your system is not designed to charge you for anything, so there is no bait or switch. Any file you have is free from start to finish, or choose somewhere else to file your taxes.

2. TurboTax

TurboTax is highly prized in the self-prepared income tax universe, and is the most popular tax software. But there are four different editions (five if it includes Live), and you must choose the correct one for your tax situation. Otherwise, you will need to update.

3. TaxACT

TaxACT works in a very similar way to TurboTax, as it has multiple editions. In the past, there have been a confusing series of edits and rounds. They’ve recently streamlined their offerings, and now have five different plans to choose from.

4. H&R Block

H&R Block has four problems, and you must choose the one that best suits your tax profile. This program was recently updated to offer Free State taxes, as well as federal taxes, this year. It is very similar to the other free versions listed here. It includes some nifty features, like the ability to snap a photo of your W-2 to speed up your presentation. Provides support for certain deductions, including the Earned Income Tax Credit, child care costs, student loan interest, mortgage interest, and even some cash and non-cash donations. Because of this, it is a stronger option than the other two free programs.

5. eSmart Tax

eSmart Tax is looking for one of the game’s lesser-known players to make tax time affordable and easy. You can also use it to get a bigger tax refund when possible. The company owns Liberty Tax, so the eSmart Tax name also has some good season benefits.
