Is It Really Worth It?

I’m sure you are aware that the web is crawling with make money online ads.

But if you are relatively new to blogging or internet marketing, in general, you may not understand that the advertising industry is a market that anybody can tap into and have a share of the profits.

Because of the sheer size of the web and the opportunities available a blogger can make money from his or her blog in many, many diverse ways no matter their ability or experience level.

I am going to introduce you to the most frequent means by which top bloggers have success so you can see how do bloggers make money on the internet…

1. Pay Per Click Ads

Pay Per Click (PPC) advertisements are everywhere you look online and are probably the most popular and most effective way in which a blogger can cash in from their blog.

PPC is the most common answer to how do bloggers make money.

As a PPC publisher by publishing the advertisements on your pages you obtain the opportunity of making revenue every time someone clicks one of your advertisements.

Google currently offers the greatest, most successful Pay Per Click ad service.

Unless this is the first time you have used the Internet, I can say that you have at least came across an AdSense ad if not even clicked on one before.

These are the same automated advertisements which you can publish on your site or blog to generate money.

There is one big element in making money from PPC, and that’s targeted traffic.

The big thing with present pay-per-click ad programs is that the ads are contextually relevant to your content.

2. Contextual Ads

Contextual ads are ads that are served to your website or page based upon its actual content.

Since the ads are relative to the content, this raises the odds of someone visiting your website.

They will click the ad since it’s more likely to be showing something interesting to them.

For example, if you’ve got a blog about football and you are running context-based ads on your website then the ads will be related to football.

While this works the majority of the time there are some situations where the advertisements served on your page may not appear relevant to the articles.

This can be caused by a few things, but two of the main causes are a poor use of keywords in your articles and the lack of advertisers in your market if it’s a very small one.

3. Widgets

Widgets are extremely popular and typically reside in bloggers sidebar.

You can see examples of how to make money with widgets by looking at our sidebar on the right side of this page.

There are constantly new services popping out from the virtual woodwork and throwing new widgets at people.

Quite a new entry to the advertising widgets playing area is Swagbucks.

They’re known as Swagbucks simply because they serve their advertisements pay you money back for shopping.

Aside from this, they are essentially the same thing as many other PPC programs.

If you search around for other widgets you can use to monetize your blog; you should have no problems finding some interesting ones.

4. Selling Services

If you can provide any form of service online, then this can hold gigantic profits.

Perhaps you are a professional designer, financial adviser, consultant, coach or writer.

Services such as these can be incredibly rewarding, and your blog is a great place to advertise and sell them.

Similarly, if you have an online training program you can sell that through your blog.

Likewise, you can register on Teachable to create video training modules and sell it through their website.

5. Selling Digital Products

Anything which you can provide through online distribution methods can be marketed as a digital item.

Fewer people are buying music, video games, and applications and are now opting to purchase them digitally.

If you can produce any form of digital product, be it a video game, audio track, sound effects, screensavers then you have the chance to market them via your blog or site.

When it comes to selling electronic products, one place I highly recommend is ClickBank.

If you have a digital product you want to sell, you can allow ClickBank to handle it all for you for a small commission.

ClickBank not only permits you to market your products but you can also sell other peoples products also.

They allow you to sell other peoples products via a specially formatted link (hoplink) in your site or blog and you will receive the commission on each sale you generate.

6. Merchandise

Let’s dig deeper into how do bloggers make money.

With so much competition online for sales of physical products, this is likely to be the hardest revenue stream.

On the other hand, after you have built up a large social media following it is easy to sell your own branded merchandise.

But, selling physical products can still make you a lot of cash if you do it properly.

However, doing it properly requires proper training.

And it can be tough to sift through all the noise online to find the training that suits you best.

One of the more popular e-commerce training platforms is called amazing selling machine.

They’ve been around for a few years and have helped many people start their own e-commerce business from scratch.

…By merchandise, I don’t mean widescreen TVs, furniture, video games, movies or anything like that…

Instead, recently a friend said to me how she likes to write poetry, and she showed me some that she had already written.

After looking through her daily LinkedIn posts and reading a few poems, it dawned on me that this is a valuable skill.

The cherry on the cake was when she stated that she had previously had two of her poems published in a poetry book.

So I suggested selling them online as framed images with the poems as an overlay.

And seeing as how she can roll poetry off her tongue like bread on butter I also suggested writing custom verses for people for special occasions.

We are now discussing a variety of ways in which her poetry could be integrated into a blog where she can market herself.

7. Hosted Products

For those who you who don’t have the means to create a physical product, you can always use a service such as Cafepress.

Cafepress permits you to run a shop filled with products with your designs such as mugs and shirts and will even print books with your content that you can then sell for a profit.

All you need to do is produce a layout, and you can upload it to the site and preview it on your goods.

The goods which Cafepress provide are sold at a price with an added markup.

Whatever the difference in price after adding to it will be your profit.

8. Paid or Sponsored Posts

A paid review or article is where you may get contacted by a different blogger or website owner.

They email you a request to write a review and post it on your blog for a one-time payment.

This income stream relies quite a great deal on the status of the blogger.

If you are a new blogger, then you shouldn’t expect to have results like this until further down the line when you have established yourself better.

However, sponsored guest posts or paid reviews do make money online with ease.

You can also get paid for posting only a link on your blog if it is relevant to your readers.

Conclusion

I am sure that this has been incredibly valuable to you in figuring out how do bloggers make money. Remember, the key is to choose 1 to 3 methods and stick with them each day. Persistence always pays.

Faithful in your success!
