June 11, 2020
Thank you for taking the time to do this interview with me! Please tell us a bit about yourself and what you do currently…
Thank you, I appreciate your support. I operate two businesses, ICS Legal working in UK Immigration and Tech ICS that focuses on Web Design and Development.
The business has been running since 2006 and we’ve created a good position in our industry respectively.
What inspired you to start doing your own business venture?
I’ve always had a knack to do business, from a very young age my thoughts were ever to run a business. Using initiative to build something sustainable was interesting.
We grew up with limited access, had 4 other siblings. So, I wanted us to have a better way of life to have access.
What has been your biggest achievement so far?
We’ve now crossed 14 years in business, so I would believe this would be the biggest. Surviving in business is massive.
For us now it is to create sustainability and growing from now on wards. Our company has received a number of awards in the UK.
What fuels you to keeps you going each day?
The need to support businesses, my focus on work has changed over the years. This happened 5 years ago where my thought process is now to work with our clients throughout both businesses, and build with them.
It is a massive curve where I am faced with different challenges each day.
Who are the top 3 celebrities/experts you’d love to work with? And why?
In my honest opinion, I would’ve loved to work with Muhammad the Prophet of my religion (Islam). I mention this, possibly seeming out of place.
But many fails to realise the business expertise that was expressed by Muhammad during his period. This covered business relationships, maintaining a good focus when liaising and customer management.
Working with Muhammad would allow me to understand and gain a more in depth knowledge of people management.
The second person would be Jeff Bezos, there is a man running a retail store with over 600,000 employees. It would be intriguing to know how he manages people and develops this accordingly.
Working with Jeff Bezos will allow me comprehend monitoring employee activity, whilst simultaneously building customer retention.
Third person would be James Caan (Entrepreneur), his background is in Recruitment. Again, he develops people and works on people skills. It would be interesting on how he identifies candidates and chooses on skills.
For me, people management skills is key in having a large enterprise. I’ve chosen key people that I’ve come across with immense pressures. I am a firm believer that navigating the mind of an employee in making decisions is the hardest task for any manager.
Take a moment to close your eyes. Where do you see yourself in 5 year’s time?
I hope that our business cycle becomes more robust in 5 years’ time. I do hope that we have a larger team to work on the workforce and provide client solutions on a larger scale.
As always, I’d also like other senior managers joining the team in creating a more efficient business.
If you could get the perfect help from an online tax return service, what would they do for you?
Auto update on costs. This would reduce paperwork.
Can you give our readers 2 key tips for success in business?
Patience is a key driver, many Hedge Fund Managers and Entrepreneurs speak on this. You need to preserve your energy and drive forward on what works. Be patient and let the business grow.
Planning is another significant tool. It’s more than certain that if you do not have a plan you will fail. As a Business Person, your decision making is for the long term. Short term gains will lead to failure.
If you were stuck on a desert island and could only bring 3 things what would they be?
Hand Sanitizer, Toilet Roll and Pasta.
How do you describe yourself in 5 words?
Passionate, Driven, Patient, Ambitious and Lovable.
