Smiles of Survivors // 60 Second Docs

Dr. Tina Meisami of Toronto is working to repair and restore the faces — and smiles — of those who’ve survived domestic violence. The foundation for which she works, Dr. Borna Meisami Commemorative Foundation, has treated 50 patients and donated nearly $600,000 worth of dental treatment. Inspired by how restoring the smiles of survivors can be a starting point to re-enter society without fear and gain confidence, her goal is to give them the treatment they need to reclaim their lives.
