Spotlight Interview: Hip Hop Artist and Producer @Lyriqs!

Thank you for taking the time to do this interview with me! Please tell us a bit about yourself and what you do currently…

No, thank you for your time. Well, I was born and raised in Linden, NJ the oldest of 3 siblings. I am an artist, producer & poet.

What inspired you to start creating your own music?

I started writing songs since I was a kid. Music has always been a passion of mine especially hip hop.

I remember always being around music constantly digging in my fathers record collection, which inspired me to start DJing.

From there it led me into teaching myself to become a producer & music engineer. Having the desire to always want to create pushed me to want to create my own sound that had a message that would inspired others.

What has been your biggest achievement so far?

For me it’s been being able to release 5 studio albums on my own without any help from a label.

Doing everything on my own from the production, mixing & mastering to the marketing aspect.

Being told that making music was a waste of time and being doubted and proving those doubters wrong was my greatest accomplishment.

It was a personal achievement knowing that something I created is out there to inspire someone, or help someone through rough times, to being able to use this art that I love to keep food on the table means a lot to me.
